childrens clothing

Because BabyYumYum is a Proudly South African brand and we like to support other South African brands (and because, of course, local really is lekker!) we’ve put together this list of amazing local clothing brands for children.

Lesedi Style

This is where modern design meets traditional African shweshwe fabric – and we couldn’t love the result more! All handmade locally, the Lesedi clothing range includes shorts, shirts, skirts and more and will add a distinctly South African flavour to any child’s wardrobe.

Sam & Sage

With Sam & Sage‘s bold colour palette and bright prints, you can dress your child in statement clothing all the way from the newborn stage to when they’re six years old – plus, there are great unisex options. Everything is designed and made in South Africa and you can forget fussing with zips, press studs, velcro and tiny buttons (what a relief!), as the designers at Sam & Sage have kept things seriously simple.

Flynn Jaxon

You won’t find ‘girls’ and ‘boys’ ranges here – Flynn Jaxon was started when the owners spotted a gap in the South African market for cool, unisex clothing for kids in monochrome and neutral colour palettes. Browse their selection of clothing, beanies, shoes, bibs and peak caps. And, of course, we’ve saved the BEST bit for last: there’s a ‘twinning’ section on the site where you can buy matching mommy-and-me outfits!

RosieBee

When you visit this online store you can expect to find pretty nature-inspired prints (RosieBee‘s founder is a botanist after all!) and, along with the very want-able children’s clothes, you’ll be able to stock up on equally gorgeous changing mat covers, cot sheets and swaddle sets. You can also buy Bee Newborn Boxes (there are three different boxes to choose from), which are packed with a clothing set and milestone stickers that you can use to photograph all those amazing ‘firsts’ like their first steps, smile and word.

Petit Fox

I’m sure it has happened to every parent: your little one has outgrown their clothes before they’ve even had a chance to wear them! Enter Petit Fox to solve this exact problem. You can sell your lightly worn baby and child clothing, and make enough money to buy something ‘new’ from the site as well. And it’s not just kids clothing you can pick up on a shoestring budget, they keep a selection of maternitywear too. We love a good bargain, and that’s what you’ll find here.

Little Lumps

Out latest find, Little Lumps offer great choice when it comes to clothing for premmies, up to babies aged 18 months. We also love the range of personalised items, like babygros, blankets, bibs and door hangers – and that they stock baby shower gifts and nursery decor. We’re adding everything from this store to our ‘want it’ list!

Schnooky Pie

Top of the priority list when the Schnooky Pie team designs their 100% cotton clothing for babies and toddlers is comfort – but that doesn’t mean they’ve compromised on style. The kiddies’ brand has found the perfect balance between fashion and function so you can stock up on cool onesies, skirts, shorts, tees and rompers. Also available at their online shop? Blankets, backpacks and bath bombs.

Tiny Necessities

So, Tiny Necessities might not be the first place you think of when you need to quickly buy a pair of shorts or a tee for your little one, but that’s because their luxury range is better suited for special occasions. There’s an impressive amount of Christening clothing for sale, but their other ranges are no less beautiful. Think retro prints and ruffles for girls and suspender shorts and collared onesies for boys.
